Hi! I’m Grace.

I’m a writer and editor who fell into covering real estate and interior design by landing a job as the editor of Curbed Hamptons in my first year after graduating from college. Curbed shuttered their Hamptons site two years later, offering me a rite of initiation for many writers and those working in media: I got laid off.

I was only 22 when I got my first writing job, which for me was not exactly a time of inspired confidence of sure-of-myself-edness. When I think back on that time, I often think about how self-conscious I was and how getting that job felt like a fever dream; I often chalk it up to being in the right place at the right time, rather than having anything to do with my talent or ability. Then again, many things can be true at once.

I feel incredibly lucky to have fell into a career in real estate writing. I get to write about beautiful homes! After I was laid off, I didn’t want to stop — so from there I started freelancing for a variety of home-related magazines and online publications. My byline has appeared in Apartment Therapy, Homes.com, The Real Deal, Out East, San Diego Magazine, and more.

This newsletter offers me an opportunity to stay on topic while exploring stories and ideas that I’m interested in. You can expect spotlights on homes for sale across the country, homemaking tips, and weekly round-ups of real estate news from all over the web.
